Recommended compression: 15–20 mmHg for mild swelling; 20–30 mmHg for moderate swelling
For light ankle or foot swelling from standing, sitting, travel, pregnancy, or daily fluid buildup, 15–20 mmHg is usually the most customer-friendly starting point. For more persistent swelling, 20–30 mmHg gives firmer support. A study comparing 15–20 and 20–30 mmHg stockings found both reduced occupational leg edema, with 20–30 mmHg showing stronger reduction in some groups.
