What do the mmHg numbers mean?

mmHg (millimeters of mercury) measures how much pressure the sock applies to your leg. Higher number = stronger compression. Choose based on your need, not personal preference — the wrong level can be ineffective or uncomfortable.

MILD 8-15 mmHg Travel, tired legs, everyday wear
MODERATE 15-20 mmHg Mild swelling, varicose veins, athletes
FIRM 20-30 mmHg DVT prevention, post-surgery, edema
EXTRA FIRM 30-40 mmHg Prescribed only — doctor supervision required
What is graduated compression and why does it matter?

Graduated compression means the pressure is highest at the ankle and gradually decreases up the leg. This is the clinically recommended design — it mimics the natural pumping action of your veins and actively pushes blood upward toward the heart.

Non-graduated (uniform) socks provide less therapeutic benefit. When shopping, look for "graduated compression" on the label to make sure you're getting effective support.

How to wear
Which length should I choose?
KNEE-HIGH
  • Most popular choice
  • Covers the calf muscle
  • Great for daily support & travel
THIGH-HIGH
  • Extended upper leg coverage
  • For circulation above the knee
  • Often prescribed post-surgery
PANTYHOSE / LEGGINGS
  • Full leg + waist support
  • Ideal for pregnancy
  • All-day wear coverage
FOOTLESS
  • Better breathability
  • Allows toe inspection
  • Wear with open-toe shoes
How do I measure myself correctly?

Measure in the morning, before swelling sets in — this ensures the most accurate fit. You'll need ankle circumference, calf circumference, and leg length. For thigh-highs, also measure thigh circumference.

Between sizes? Choose the larger size for your first pair — it's more forgiving and easier to put on. If a sock feels impossible to pull on, the issue is usually compression level, not size.

Who benefits most from compression socks?

If you spend long hours on your feet or sitting without moving, compression socks actively help prevent blood pooling and leg fatigue throughout the day.

Nurses & healthcare workersTeachers & retail staffFrequent flyersPregnant womenRunners & athletesPost-surgery recoveryVaricose veinsDVT preventionEdema & lymphedemaLong-haul drivers
How do I care for compression socks?

Hand wash or gentle machine cycle in cold water. Air dry flat — tumble drying breaks down the elastic fibers and reduces compression over time. Avoid petroleum-based creams or lotions on your legs before putting them on, as these degrade the fabric.

Replace every 3–6 months with daily wear. Once the elastic starts to feel loose, the compression level is no longer effective.

Take the Quiz

These 20-30mmHg compression socks effectively reduce swelling and leg pain. Customers said they "relieved all pain" and provided "great compression." Sizing runs tight—many recommend sizing up. The open-toe design allows breathability. Some noted the toe seam can cause discomfort and the foot portion may slip. Overall, highly valued for comfort and price.

I read others saying these

I read others saying these were tighter than others you sell. suggesting to size up. I did and they were still pretty tight. The first three days, I had to remove them in about 6-8 hours beause of the discomfort. After the third day, I was able to wear them all day. I have a recurring battle with lymphedema, but after the third day, i had reduced swelling in both legs. Not great, but noticeably better.

These fit really well. I

These fit really well. I went with the size chart that goes by height and weight. It was a larger recommendation than the size chart near the top. The larger size was just right. After several hours there was a line around the top of my calf but it didn’t hurt at all. Even though they were the larger size there was a good amount of compression. Just what I was looking for!

These are thick, but fit

These are thick, but fit well. Great with pants, but theres no hiding them during summer! Oh well, Im old and need them, so you young people can look aside. Now I understand my grandmas attitude.

They were great, very comfortable.

They were great, very comfortable. Relieved all my pain and "heavy" feeling in my calves. Noticed a significant decrease in swelling. Were not too tight that they left marks but were tight enough that they are a bit of a workout to put on and take off, recommend rolling rather than tugging. They stay in place and have held up well.

These are a good, thick

These are a good, thick , strong compression sock that holds up all day. May stay with a more sheer style for summer because of the thickness. The top band is fairly tight for a larger calf, but it also doesn't fall down when lowering pants to use the restroom. They wash up very well by hand and in the front loader washer (no center agitator) with other delicate undergarments. The seam on the toe is pretty heavy and irritated my toes until I figured out where and how to position it so it didn't cause too much discomfort. The fit was as described and I'm pleased with my purchase.

They provided good compression at first but after multiple washes they don’t hold the compression and they stretch out as the day progresses.

The thinner material fits better

The thinner material fits better in shoes but is strong and provides great compression. My legs no longer hurt all day. I measured my calves & ankles and ordered according to the sizing chart, and they fit perfectly. I am super happy with this purchase and have already ordered more!

My mother needed these after surgery. She continues to wear them daily. They wash and wear well. Be sure to order based on weight rather than size. We went two sizes up and they fit perfectly without being overly tight.

the end of the Open

the end of the Open sock needs to be across the joints of the toes / foot.
If the sock moves toward the center of the foot cramping may begin.

I recently purchased these open

I recently purchased these open toe compression socks, and I couldn't be happier with my choice! These socks have truly exceeded my expectations in every way.

Firstly, the compression is just right—not too tight, but enough to provide support and improve circulation in my legs, especially during long hours of standing. The open toe design is a game-changer, allowing my toes to breathe and making them more comfortable to wear for extended periods. The material feels soft and durable!

I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a blend of comfort, style, and functionality!

My doctor recommended wearing compression

My doctor recommended wearing compression high socks on flights because of my vascular problems. So I buy compression socks from time to time.
I liked that there are 3 pairs in the set, so if I lose or tear one, I have a replacement on hand. It's very convenient! ABSOLUTE SUPPORT socks are a nice color, so I can wear them with a skirt, dress, and even heels. They are also quite comfortable to wear.

Based on the lack of swelling at the end of the day. These are true 20-30mm compression socks. I prefer the sheer thin material tear round over the thicker socks for everyday non-athletic activities, particularly in warmer weather.
