What do the mmHg numbers mean?

mmHg (millimeters of mercury) measures how much pressure the sock applies to your leg. Higher number = stronger compression. Choose based on your need, not personal preference — the wrong level can be ineffective or uncomfortable.

MILD 8-15 mmHg Travel, tired legs, everyday wear
MODERATE 15-20 mmHg Mild swelling, varicose veins, athletes
FIRM 20-30 mmHg DVT prevention, post-surgery, edema
EXTRA FIRM 30-40 mmHg Prescribed only — doctor supervision required
What is graduated compression and why does it matter?

Graduated compression means the pressure is highest at the ankle and gradually decreases up the leg. This is the clinically recommended design — it mimics the natural pumping action of your veins and actively pushes blood upward toward the heart.

Non-graduated (uniform) socks provide less therapeutic benefit. When shopping, look for "graduated compression" on the label to make sure you're getting effective support.

How to wear
Which length should I choose?
KNEE-HIGH
  • Most popular choice
  • Covers the calf muscle
  • Great for daily support & travel
THIGH-HIGH
  • Extended upper leg coverage
  • For circulation above the knee
  • Often prescribed post-surgery
PANTYHOSE / LEGGINGS
  • Full leg + waist support
  • Ideal for pregnancy
  • All-day wear coverage
FOOTLESS
  • Better breathability
  • Allows toe inspection
  • Wear with open-toe shoes
How do I measure myself correctly?

Measure in the morning, before swelling sets in — this ensures the most accurate fit. You'll need ankle circumference, calf circumference, and leg length. For thigh-highs, also measure thigh circumference.

Between sizes? Choose the larger size for your first pair — it's more forgiving and easier to put on. If a sock feels impossible to pull on, the issue is usually compression level, not size.

Who benefits most from compression socks?

If you spend long hours on your feet or sitting without moving, compression socks actively help prevent blood pooling and leg fatigue throughout the day.

How do I care for compression socks?

Hand wash or gentle machine cycle in cold water. Air dry flat — tumble drying breaks down the elastic fibers and reduces compression over time. Avoid petroleum-based creams or lotions on your legs before putting them on, as these degrade the fabric.

Replace every 3–6 months with daily wear. Once the elastic starts to feel loose, the compression level is no longer effective.

20-30mmHg compression pantyhose praised for excellent support and swelling control. Customers said "very comfortable" and effective for medical needs and long trips. Fly opening is convenient. Good product for controlling swelling.

Good product for controlling swelling. Thick and for cooler weather. I will use these for skiing. Fly opening is too open, thus a thin pair of briefs under is advisable. If you can get over the gender issue, the womens selection is a better choice, my opinion.

I ordered the correct size

I ordered the correct size and they fit well when I got them on. These are full length compression tights, so I was expecting it to be a challenge to get them on the first time. It was a struggle, but overall went on relatively easily. As I was standing still and upright the first time, they felt relatively comfortable for compression wear.

Then I took a step and sat down, and they immediately began to shift. I readjusted them, got them smoothed out, and tried again, same thing. So I decided to tough it out for a few hours and give them a chance to settle. 30 minutes later they were bunched up around both knees and ankles so tightly that my feet were starting to go numb and I couldn't concentrate because they were so uncomfortable. I took off my pants and it looked like I had been wrapping rubber bands around my knees and ankles.

I don't know if there are full length compression tights that will work for my legs, but these were not them.

Purchased Large these through Amazon. Waist sizing is accurate . Length is a little long for me. Fly front panel. Good room in front. Reasonable price. Needed for ankle support for better blood flow. Havent tried for other use but will try for workout and cycling.

Being the first time putting

Being the first time putting on the pantyhose I was surprised how hard it was getting over the heal. Once I got the hang of it the hose goes on fairly earr see y. It real tight but goes st as y up well
It can be a fight taking them off but it does the job and does it well.
I would definitely buy again.

Would be great if they did not come up to the bottom of my rib cage. Perhaps I need to order a smaller pair, but this already fit snug in the lower legs.

They are difficult to get

They are difficult to get on, but that’s to be expected with any type of compression stocking. My husband really likes the open fly, making it easy to use the RR.

I’ve purchased compression tights before, but these are by far the best! I’ve been cooking half the day for Christmas, and they saved my legs. I’m so glad that I purchased 2 pairs. I’m a hairstylist. I’ll be wearing them everyday. Great quality. Perfect fit, thanks to the size chart.:skin-tone-4:

Need these to keep blood

Need these to keep blood pressure under control. Good quality and holding up after multiple washings. Only complaint is the length. I'm 6 foot with 32 inch thin legs. I find these to be a too short in the leg and too high waisted. Could use less on the top and more on the bottom. They tend to slip down and I have to pull them up often. Company currently does not offer a tall version though they should. Also, I agree with other reviewers. Briefs really need to be worn under the tights for comfort, especially because of the slippage.

I need to wear compression

I need to wear compression stockings. First, I tried the closed toe stockings. That did not work out for me. When selecting the size, you look at a chart that requires three measurements, Thai, Calf and ankle. There is NO option to select a foot size. Since I have a large foot, size 11, I found that the foot part of the compression stockings were squeezing my toes and causing them to curl under. I also found that silicone at the top of the stockings were turning the skin my on my thighs red and causing blisters.

So, I purchased open toe compression stockings. Instead of having long strips of silicone strips to hold the stockings up, these stockings had small round dots. With less silicone in contact with my skin, I hoped that this would work for me. Here, I had two problems. The silicone still irritated my skin. The open toe part of the stockings would work their way back to the mid mart of my foot and it would become very uncomfortable. Of course, this would not be a problem if you have small to medium size foor.

Finally, I discovered Leotard Compression for Men with a Closed Toe and a Fly opening. – The advertisement said that these Compression Panty Hose Style Stockings had a roomy foot and toe section. An added blessing is that these Compression Panty Hoses uses an elastic waist band. I took a chance and ordered several pairs of these Leotard Compression panty hose. I am extremely happy that I did. These Leotard’s are absolutely perfect for me. They really help me a lot and they feel great on my legs.

Someone needs to consider making

Someone needs to consider making a compression tight for tall people. While the fit is good (compression wise), they are too short. Spend most of the day pulling them up at the crotch. I wear briefs under them as recommended. However, as the tights begin to slide down the briefs go with them. Too much adjusting. At this price, however, they are really the only show in town. As summer is approaching I am looking for 20/30 compression shorts to wear with compression calf sleeves. They don't seem to exist. Again someone should consider manufacturing them for those of us who have to wear compression year round.

My first experience with this

My first experience with this type of compression. Been wearing the thigh highs. Thigh highs just fall down to below my knee. I'm a Flight Attendant so lots of bending, kneeling and lifting. I think there's some getting used to....like a wrestling match getting them on! I have no comparison being this is my first with this type. I'm a tinkerer who likes to fix and build things and I don't see any way the design could be improved. Maybe something that is cotton underwearlike at the top attached to compression?

These fit well, give enough

These fit well, give enough compression to completely satisfy me. Other large medical supply companied did not even have anything available like these. The terribly icky complicated version was 150.00 more for something I am thankful I do not have to wear. Took only 5 days from order to delivery on the economy free delivery service. Thank You Very Much.
